At Body Balance and Beyond, our focus lies on providing exceptional physical therapy services that help our patients reduce or eliminate pain, regain strength and flexibility, and improve and restore their health, body balance, and functionality.
Our long-term goal for our patients is to maintain the achieved results. We aim to achieve and maintain these goals with a holistic approach, treating the body as a whole.
We treat not just the symptoms but also the underlying cause. Our physical therapists have many years of experience, and each brings unique skills for the effective treatment of our patients. Furthermore, they frequently participate in continuing education courses and implement their newly gained knowledge into treatments.
Over 25 years of experience
With over 25 years of experience, our strength lies in combining European and American treatment methods. In addition to conventional equipment, we also use state-of-the-art exercise equipment, such as the Gyrotonic Expansion System, Spinal Corrector, Tonal, and Pilates.
These equipments help our patients achieve their goals more functionally and naturally.
We specialize in treating patients with scoliosis and spinal-related injuries. We are certified in the Schroth scoliosis treatment technique and have worked with scoliosis patients for over 25 years.
During each physical therapy session, our patients receive high-quality, individualized, one-on-one treatments that are approximately forty-five minutes long. Our long treatment sessions give our physical therapists sufficient time to talk to our patients, evaluate and resolve their problems, and design the best treatment plans.
We ensure that our patients receive the proper care and attention they deserve.
Why our physical therapy sessions are different?
Our team is unique because it combines European and American treatment techniques. Our physical therapists have over 25 years of experience and have participated in many additional continuing education courses.
Our patients receive highly individualized one-on-one treatment sessions. Each treatment session is tailored to address the problem (s) and the underlying cause (s). We don't treat in the “cookie-cutter” style.
High-quality physical therapy sessions
You deserve better. Therefore, we treat our patients for approximately forty-five minutes. The longer treatment sessions allow our physical therapists to use their skills and knowledge to the full extent, speeding up the healing process and achieving the patient’s goals.
During our physical therapy sessions, we use Gyrotonic and Pilates equipment alongside traditional treatment methods. The Gyrotonic Expansion System has many therapeutic benefits that help patients restore functionality and regain health.
Prescription
We require a written physical therapy prescription from your referring physician to provide physical therapy services to patients with Medicare insurance. Otherwise, the new "Direct Access" law allows us to treat you without a physical therapy prescription.
Insurance
Our physical therapy office in San Mateo accepts most health insurance plans, including Medicare, Blue Shield, Anthem Blue Cross, CIGNA, United Health Care, and many others, including motor vehicle accidents. We do not accept HMO plans, Covered California plans, or Worker's Compensation insurance.
