Audrey has 20 years of working experience in the fitness, health and rehabilitation industry.
Her practical skills began immediately after completing a degree in Exercise Physiology from UC Davis. She began working as a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise. She worked for several years privately, at the San Mateo Peninsula YMCA and at San Mateo 24-Hour Fitness. Her focus was assisting clients with general fitness, injury rehabilitation and sports conditioning. She complimented her personal training with work as a physical therapist aide at an outpatient orthopedic clinic in San Mateo, and tutoring college students in anatomy and physiology at College of San Mateo and Canada College.
Discovering that she most enjoyed teaching students and assisting clients rehabilitate from injury, she decided to return to school and pursue a graduate degree in physical therapy at Northwestern University in Chicago. While in graduate school, she was able to gather clinical experience in a variety of facilities throughout the United States. These settings included non-profit urban clinics, work hardening, outpatient orthopedics, acute care, traumatic brain injury and inpatient cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
Upon successfully completing graduate school, she returned to the Bay Area to work as licensed physical therapist and has practiced continuously for 15 years in outpatient orthopedics. She first worked at Carrola Physical Therapy in Burlingame. There she specialized in helping clients with traumatic and repetitive hand/wrist injuries and general orthopedic conditions. She then moved on to Body Balance and Beyond, Inc. where she now specializes in ergonomic posturing for activities of daily living, improving mechanics of the spine and pelvis, eliminating low back and neck pain, and general patient education.
She has been a guest speaker for the San Mateo Peninsula YMCA and for the Mills Peninsula Hospital new parent group. Her lectures included Fall Prevention in the Elderly, and Postural Ergonomics for Caregivers of Newborns.
Audrey is a San Mateo native. Her hobbies are endurance trail running, hiking, traveling, vegan cooking, and drawing.
